Interactive meeting of “Friends of South Africa”-7th September 2018, Mumbai

Clasis Law hosted an event in its Mumbai office on September 7 which was a successful interactive meeting of “Friends of South Africa”. The event was well attended by thought leaders from a cross section of the corporate world ranging from Power, Financial, Social, Healthcare, Tourism, Start-up ecocsystem etc.
The Chief Guest was HE Ms. Maropene Ramokgopa, South African Consul General. She shared her insights about the potential that South Africa holds for companies willing to invest there.
Those present shared views ranging from Financial & Investments, Medical Tourism, Power, Smart Grids, IT, Healthcare, Media etc.
The event was attended by Vineet Aneja and Mustafa Motiwala of Clasis Law.

Conference on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code: Learnings, Challenges and Way Forward 18th August 2018, Mumbai

Aniketh Nair, Senior Associate, Clasis Law attended a conference organized by Confederation of Indian Industry on Learnings, Challenges and Way Forward of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code at Hotel Taj Mahal, Colaba on August 18, 2018. The conference focused on the change of the business landscape in current times, the effects of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Second Amendment) Bill, 2018, the recommendations of the Committee on bad loans resolution, lending standards, allocation of capital, valuation, time management and global experiences; litigation in latest cases and learnings from successful cases under IBC.

CII Manufacturing Innovation Conclave June 22, 2018, New Delhi

Clasis Law was a corporate sponsor of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Manufacturing Innovation Conclave held at ITC Maurya, New Delhi on June 22, 2018. Parul Kashyap, Counsel/Head of Business Development and Lovejeet Singh, Senior Associate attended the event. The conclave was attended by manufacturing and information technology companies. The conclave focused on the need of innovation and R&D for the growth of Indian manufacturing sector. The industry leaders deliberated on the road ahead for industries adopting innovation in manufacturing. The conclave also discussed increasing role of robotics and artificial intelligence in the manufacturing sector and their impact on employment.

Knowledge session on Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 hosted by Clasis Law- 8 March 2018, Mumbai

A roundtable talk was organised on March 8, 2018 at the Mumbai office of Clasis Law jointly with the Indo- French Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Mustafa Motiwala, Head of the Disputes Resolution practice made a presentation on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 from the perspective of the provisions relating to issuing notices by operational creditors and filing petitions by financial and operational creditors and the process thereafter. The latest judgements and their implications were also discussed.

Knowledge session on Efficient Dispute Resolution hosted by Clasis Law- 13 February 2018, Mumbai

Clasis Law hosted a roundtable on efficient dispute Resolution in a rapidly evolving business environment: Why arbitrate in Singapore, and how will any award be enforced in India? in the Mumbai office on February 13, 2018. Mr Mustafa Motiwala, Head of Mumbai office and Litigation and Disputes Resolution practice and Ms Sapna Jhangiani, Partner, Clyde & Co., Singapore are the speakers in the event. Sapna gave a very informative and elaborate presentation about SIAC arbitrations and its rules. Mustafa spoke about enforcement of foreign awards in India and various strategies relating to the same. The event was attended by select clients and was followed by Q&A and interactions based on live cases of the audience.

Knowledge Session on Compliance Risks for Foreign Companies Doing Business in India hosted by Clasis Law- 14 December 2017, New Delhi

Clasis Law hosted a knowledge session on ‘Compliance Risks for Foreign Companies Doing Business in India’, in association with the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) at the IFCCI office on 14th December 2017. The session was conducted for the benefit of the French companies and was presented by Ms. Priyanka Anand, Associate Partner. Clasis Law was also represented by Ms. Parul Kashyap, Counsel and Head of Business Development, Mr. Gaurav Wahie, Associate Partner and Ms. Neetika Ahuja, Associate Partner who responded to questions from the participants in relation to compliance requirements under FEMA, Companies Act and the overall compliance burden faced by foreign companies in India.

Presentation on Insolvency Law and Public Procurement Laws at Austrian Embassy ,NewDelhi

Clasis Law’s Mustafa Motiwala, Partner and Parul Kashyap, Counsel were invited by the Austrian Embassy, New Delhi to give a presentation on Insolvency Law and Public Procurement Laws, for the benefit of the Austrian diplomats and embassy officials.

Roundtable session on Sexual Harassment – Practical Challenges of Handling Complaints - 21 September 2017, New Delhi

Clasis Law conducted a round table session on “Practical Challenges in handling Sexual Harassment Complaints” on 21st September 2017 at the office. The session was well attended and the participants had a very enriching and informative discussion on this topic. The participants also got an opportunity to interact with our lawyers and to have us address their queries on this subject.

Knowledge Session on Dawn Raids hosted by Clasis Law-31 August, 2017, New Delhi

Clasis Law hosted a roundtable on the emerging concept of ‘Dawn Raids in India’, in association with the Indo-French Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) at the IFCCI office on 31st August 2017. The knowledge session was presented by Mr Vineet Aneja, Senior Partner and Ms Kaveri Kumar, Senior Associate. This was followed by an engaging discussion on this very interesting topic and an interactive Q&A session.

National Seminar on Implementation Compliance and Operation of GST particularly in respect of SME Food Sector-30 May 2017, New Delhi

The National Seminar on Implementation, Compliance and Operation of GST particularly in respect of SME Food Sector was organized by All India Food Processors’ Association with Clasis Law as the Knowledge Partner. Clasis Law was represented by Gaurav Wahie, Associate Partner, Neetika Ahuja, Associate Partner, Sachin Kumar, Associate and Lovejeet Singh, Associate. The entire event was compered by Lovejeet Singh. Clasis Law's tax consultant gave a presentation on the aspect of “Analysis of Inter & Intra State Supply, Eway Bill, Job Work, Multiple State Operations, Distributors/ Warehousing”.

Clasis Law hosted a talk on “Sexual Harassment at Workplace”, on 20th of January 2017, at Vivanta by Taj-Blue Diamond, Pune. The Key Note speakers at the conference were Mr. Vineet Aneja, Senior Partner and Ms. Priyanka Anand, Senior Associate from the Clasis Law, New Delhi office. The talk was followed by an interactive panel discussion on the subject. The panelists included Mr. Vineet Aneja from Clasis Law, Mrs. Meenal Joshi, a NGO member and Mr. Anubhav Kapoor, General Counsel, Tata Technologies.

Clasis Law in collaboration with Major, Lindsey and Africa organized a Dinner reception exclusively for General Counsels at The Oberoi, Gurgaon on 1st December 2016. The event was well attended by GCs from large multinational companies from sectors such as oil & gas, FMCG, banks, healthcare, insurance, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, pharma, IT, ITES and many more.

Clasis Law hosted a talk on “Sexual Harassment at Workplace”, on 18th of November 2016, at the Trident Hotel, BKC, Mumbai. The Key Note speakers at the conference were Mr. Vineet Aneja, Partner and Ms. Priyanka Anand, Senior Associate from the Clasis Law, New Delhi office. The event was an opportunity to discuss role and obligations of an employer, share experiences, explore some of the issues posed by the Act and understand the practical challenges to compliance from the perspective of an employer.

London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) seminar-21 November 2014, Mumbai

Clasis Law hosted a seminar with Ms Jacomijn van Haersolte-van Hof, the new Director General of the London Court of International Arbitration, at its Mumbai office.
